Chinese Father Finally Meets His Long-Lost Son After 24-Years

There are many cases of lost people, most of them are not even recognized. Lucky are those who have family that is searching for them. Similarly, a Chinese father was searching for his son for last 24-years. And now after 24-years, finally happy tears were shed when he met his long-lost son after sending 180,000 missing-person notices across China.

On August 8, 1994, the Chinese Father Li Shunji lost his 3-years-old son, Li Lei on the busy streets of Xi’an city while passing through there. However, Li Lei finally met his 59-year-old biological father and other family members.
China police made this possible for Li Shunji to meet his long-lost son after 24-years, police officials identified Le Lei, in a DNA database of missing children.

“I left home to start selling clothes at my stall,” he said. “I hadn’t realized that my son had followed me,” father Li Shunji, 59, told Chinese Business Gazette. “I only realized that he had gone missing after my wife came looking for me at the shop. My legs went numb instantly,” Mr. Li recalled.
When Li Lei accidentally parted from his father, a couple found him and tried searching for his parents but when they failed to locate them anywhere, they decided to provide a shelter to the little Li Lei and took him home. The raised him just like their own son.

After losing to Li Lei in 1994, Li Shunji sold his business and started traveling from one place to another in search of Li Lei. From printing about 180,000 copies of missing-persons notices to delivering them to various provinces, he made every possible effort to locate him and Li Lei’s mother was his only constant support throughout all 24-years.

“I kept telling myself, I mustn’t give up. I must see my son again,” Li said. And finally after a long struggle of Li the lucky break came when the local police identified Li Lei in the DNA database for missing children.
