In the recent MCD elections conducted in the national capital, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won in the elections. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi Elections organised for a total of 11 districts in Delhi. It is one of the leading municipal bodies in the world that provides civic services for more number of citizens in the capital city of the nation. Different political parties will include in the Delhi MCD Elections 2017 such as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Swaraj India and many other independent candidates. There are a total of 272 seats in Delhi MCD elections 2017.
Despite several political parties taking part in the MCD elections 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party had finally retained in the 3 municipal corporations in Delhi for third term this time. The BJP party had successfully surpassed the AAP party led by Aravind Kejriwal, Congress and other political parties. The BJP has once again come back into its power and authority in the national capital city Delhi continuously for the 3rd term. It has won in all the 3 municipal corporations. Like expected, the BJP party has won in these MCD elections 2017. MCD is an acronym for Municipal Corporation of Delhi. It is a sovereign body that administers 11 districts in the national capital Delhi in the country. It is one of the 3 municipal corporations such as National Capital Territory of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board.
MCD is the leading municipal bodies across the globe which has more than 11 million populations in the capital city Delhi. This MCD provides various civic services to various rural and urban villages in Delhi. Originally, MCD established in the year 1958 under the act of parliament. Every year, different political parties will take part in MCD elections from different zones.
The Delhi MCD actually categorized into 3 such as East, North and South Delhi in Municipal Corporation of Delhi. NMCD and SMCD have 104 seats each while EMCD have 64 seats. Last time, during the Delhi MCD elections that took place in the year 2012, BJP has won the majority number of seats. Just like the previous year elections, BJP has won 3 major municipal corporations in the election polls. BJP has won 64 wards out of a total of 104 wards in the north region of MCD. In south region, it won 70 wards out of 104 and in the region of East MCD; the party won 48 wards out of 64. On the other hand, the AAP party has witnessed a huge loss in the elections.
